Clean + Green
From Woof Creek’s very start, finding clean and sustainable ingredients has been a core tenant. Our aim was to use only selectively sourced, whole foods that are grown, raised or produced with safer, eco-friendly means for the holistic wellness of our fur families. These ingredients also had low to no impact on the environment. We chose novel proteins like whole rabbit and whole duck for our first limited-ingredient treats, as they are pivotal proteins for our pets, but they also have lower greenhouse impact and use less land to raise than beef, chicken, or even turkey. Our other products’ ingredients, like our use of a variety of organic functional mushrooms in our supplements, as well as other superfoods like kelp and alfalfa, all keep true to our green mission.
And the eco-centric goal guided us from there…
When we needed to choose a container for our superfood + functional mushroom supplement powder blends, we steered clear of plastic. Even BPA-free plastics would not support a reduction of pollutants in the production of such items. And even though plastic containers are the food and supplement industry’s most common (and cheapest) choice, we aim to follow our clean, green compass. We selected our reusable food-grade tins. And the measuring spoon? A more sustainable wooden scoop was our choice (and it is just about the cutest thing ever, second only to our fur babies…)

Ingredients matter. Packaging matters, too.
We commit to using no synthetics in our products, like chemicals, fillers, binders, food coloring, preservatives, or fortified minerals, because clean ingredients matter so much. And, for every greener and cleaner choice we made, more opportunities to go greener present themselves, beyond our ingredients.

Eco-Refill Pouches
Our compostable refill pouches can simply be poured into the original tin. To reduce waste further, we thought of our Large Value Resealable Pouches for those families with larger dogs/larger packs, reducing shipping frequency and so, the carbon footprint.
How it works...
Your first purchase, the superfood blend in the reusable food-grade tin, includes the wooden measuring scoop and magnetic scoop holder. You save the tin, then purchase the single-sized or triple-sized refill pouches to refill the original tin.
Further green efforts, like... reducing pesticides.
In 2022, we’d learned of the toxic pesticide ingredients used in the conventional monthly pest preventatives for our fur babies, especially the ectoparasiticide chemical, isoxozoline. Wanting a completely clean and natural alternative, Chef Scot developed our all natural Flea + Tick Defense superfood powder blend and our extra-precaution pest repellant spray for our own fur grrls. Both products help reduce the production and use of chemical pest preventatives that affect our pets’ chemical load and also, our planet.

Our Flea + Tick Defense Repellant spray, made with premium essential oils, could not be packaged in a plastic spray bottle, as plastics can be easily degraded by such essential oils and then leach and, so, adulterate the natural spray. Glass spray bottles, it was, then.

As our Repellant Spray became widely used across the United States and Canada, we developed the discounted large Glass Refill bottle, furthering our eco-mission and waste-reduction campaigns.
Continued education and awareness.
Our Omega-3 rich Salmon Oil Meal topper and our Ocean Fish Oil blend are both sold in glass bottles rather than plastic. This decision was guided by our eco-friendly guidelines and, learning from our integrative veterinary consultants, oils degrade in plastic and the plastic then leaches into the oil, neither of which is okay for our pets. And, as we at Woof Creek our always seeking clinically supported holistic pet health knowledge, new information and findings continue to guide us.
Furthermore, at the 2024 Annual NASC (National Animal Supplement Council) Conference, we learned of the dwindling numbers of several ocean fish species, including mackerel, herring, sardine and anchovy which are used for our Omega-3 Ocean Fish Oil. These fish are being over-fished globally, and thus depleting the core food sources for whales, sharks, dolphins and more. We began searching for an alternative, and are excited to add a pivotal plant-based, more sustainable, ultra-nutrient oil to the Woof Creek wellness product offerings, coming in February 2025! These environmentally motivated decisions make for a healthier planet and pets.
More eco-responsible shipping methods.
Our shipping program has even benefitted from our eco-mission. We have evolved from bubble-wrap insulated shipping envelopes to now only recyclable cardboard boxes, envelopes and cushioning, and we employ extra efforts to consolidate subscriptions and shipments for the reduction of shipping carriers' fuel emissions. We have also replaced plastic shipping tape to paper packing strips, and will continue to watch for further eco-saving methods.
Recyclable Treat Pouches
Our limited-ingredient training treats, Woof Creek's very first product offering back when we started, are now offered in #2 recyclable pouches. These pouches can easily be recycled at many neighborhood grocery stores across the USA.

- Growing many of our own fruits and vegetables
- Concise cardboard-packaged, all-natural dish soap, laundry detergent, and household cleaners
- Replacing any plastic or melamine flatware with glass, pyrex or ceramic (important for our pets and people!)
- Reusable cotton fabric napkins, towels (in place of paper towels) and reusable jute or cotton tote grocery bags
- Chemical-free lawn care, with use of beneficial nematodes and natural pest prevention on plants, and our entire family.

Woof Creek owes a debt of gratitude to Mother Nature, for all of her natural tools that have healed our own fur family and help them continue to thrive. We also give thanks for our ability to share her natural tools with our fellow pet parents all over the world.
