So, the general short answer: The Essential Flea + Tick Defense Meal Topper is safe to use all year round (as is needed where we live in Florida) but can be adjusted for seasonality, especially in snowy winter months.

We base the following, more detailed answer on a pup's time to digest from 4-10 hours (depending on diet type, etc.): The topper creating the skin's bug-repellant scent will take a day or so to exude through the skin. The topper also has skin health enhancing properties, which also takes some time to work. 

Those points said, we suggest that the topper can be used at half dose to maintain levels in their blood stream during stretches of time that you have the pup inside (other than short potty walks) and/or during cooler temperatures when flea and tick activity will undoubtedly be low to nil.

Yes, our Essential Flea + Tick Defense Meal Topper is safe for a 4-month-old puppy, in general; dozens of young pups are starting off clean and safely protected with our Essential Flea + Tick Defense topper. We remind you to adhere to the dosing chart which is based on pupper's weight and prorate the dosing tiers, ie a full scoop for 25#, half a scoop for 12#, etc. And, as always, if there are specifics with your pup like a recent or nearing spay/or neuter procedure, certain vaccines just gotten, or any other care and health matters specific to your fur kiddo, we always recommend seeking direct advice from your veterinarian.

Excellent product!

I'm on my 3rd refill of this product and I absolutely love it! Everybody in my neighborhood is complaining about fleas on their pet, and my little dog scruffy doesn't have a single one. I put the powder in her food every morning and she eats it readily. Her coat is also looking much better and I attribute that to the Tremella in the product.

A great product for tick/flea protection

Going on our second year of the flea and tick powder/spray and haven’t seen any fleas or ticks since. I am diligent in usage and always apply the spray on my dog before going outside. Fingers crossed and prayers up it stays that way!! 👍🏻🙏🏻

We completely understand your frustration with your dog's reluctance to take the supplement and would like to offer some suggestions: For pickier pups that like their meal as-is, you can try giving the supplement aside from meals as a gravy by mixing them with sodium free broth, raw or cooked egg, Omega-3 Fish oils, kefir, yogurt, goat's milk, or even clean-ingredient peanut butter. Or, you can use mix with filtered water and give with a plastic oral syringe. We also sent you over an email with this information and more recommendations to hopefully encourage your pup to take the supplement.

Highly recommend

After doing a lot of research and searching for a natural flea and tick preventative I decided to try this. I am so happy I did! I started using this last year with my shepherd Kyro. It worked great so now using it again this year. We added Fury to our pack and they both like the taste. So happy to not be putting chemicals into my babies and not having to worry about side affects or injuries.

No Fuss, Just Results

We’ve been using Wolf Creek flea & tick preventative powder in our Bullmastiff’s food and have had a really great experience. I'm truly impressed with the effectiveness!

I'm truly impressed with the effectiveness of Flea & Tick Defense Support! We live in a high tick population area and this product is keeping the ticks off of my Australian Shepherd very well. I have only found two ticks on him in the past few weeks since starting this product and both ticks were dead. My Aussie seems to like the taste of this powder and eats it right up on his raw food. Look no further, this is the best!

This is the third year I’ve used Flea + Tick Defense for my dog, and I cannot recommend it highly enough. Get the supplement along with the Flea+Tick Defense Spray, and your dog will be almost 100% flea-free. Last year, I only found three fleas on my dog, and I live in a mostly rural area.
My dog likes the way the supplement tastes, and the spray smells so good and doesn’t leave her coat with a sticky buildup like cedar oil does. I’m so glad I discovered Woof Creek products!

I ordered this for my 5 year old brown Aussie

I ordered this for my 5 year old brown Aussie. He is a tick magnet this year. He has a very sensitive stomach, and is very picky on what he eats. I mix this with a little bit of mashed potatoes and his food. So far he is doing great! It took about a full week to see results. Before I started this, he had 12 ticks on him in under 2 weeks. I live in Western NY in the country. I have NEVER had this bad of an issue with ticks. It has given me some piece of mind knowing that this is hopefully working. I also use a few other holistic things on him too. No big pharma meds for my boy.
