Why We Created Feline Foundation

Over the past couple weeks, we've explored something that doesn't get nearly enough attention in feline health: the gut microbiome.

We've talked about how your cat's health depends on countless biological systems working together. We've looked at the incredible ecosystem living inside every cat and why researchers now believe it plays a much bigger role in lifelong wellness than we once understood.

That journey naturally led us to ask a question of our own:

If gut health is truly foundational, what should daily support actually look like?

For Woof Creek, the answer wasn't to create another probiotic. It wasn't to chase the biggest CFU count or add the latest trending ingredient to a label. Instead, we stepped back and started with something much simpler.

What does a cat actually need?

Cats Aren't Small Dogs

This may sound obvious, but the pet industry hasn't always treated it that way. Many feline supplements begin as dog formulas and are adjusted for a smaller body size.

We wanted to take a different approach.

Cats have unique biology. They're obligate carnivores. Their digestive systems evolved differently. Their nutritional needs are different.

So shouldn't their daily wellness support be designed specifically for them? That belief became our starting point.

A Foundation

At Woof Creek, we believe that lasting wellness doesn’t come from chasing symptoms. We believe wellness comes from supporting the systems that help the body stay resilient in the first place. 

That's why we kept coming back to one word: Foundation.

Just as the foundation of a home supports everything built above it, we believe the gut is one of the foundational systems that supports so many aspects of your cat's overall health.

We think about the gut as an ecosystem. A living community that benefits from thoughtful, daily support.  And that philosophy guided every decision we made.

Every Ingredient Needed a Job

When Chef Scot began developing this formula, one rule kept coming up during the process:

Every ingredient should earn its place.

Nothing was added because it was trendy. Nothing was included simply to make the label look impressive.

Each ingredient was chosen because it serves a specific purpose within the broader gut ecosystem.

Some ingredients help support the microbiome. Some help maintain the intestinal barrier. Others support digestive comfort, healthy immune communication, or the overall environment where beneficial microbes can thrive.

Together, these work toward a common goal: supporting one of the body's most important biological systems.

That philosophy is what ultimately became Feline Foundation.

It's our first product created specifically for cats.
