Five Lessons from Five Years of Woof Creek
This month, Woof Creek celebrates five years of nourishing fur kids worldwide and deepening the bond between humans, animals, and nature. As we reflect on this milestone, our co-founder Chef Scot CPCN shares what these years have taught him. These lessons are rooted in gratitude, growth, and a continued love for real, intentional nourishment.
1. Leaning into My Roots

“Five years in, and I’ve learned that what I do now isn’t so different from what I did for 35 years as a chef. Back then, I worked hand in hand with nature through building relationships with farmers, ranchers, and the people I served. My role was to honor what nature provided and elevate it without overpowering it.
Woof Creek has reminded me that I never stopped being a chef. I’m still sourcing the best ingredients, still learning, still blending things in ways that nourish and connect. The only difference is that now, my guests have four legs.”
Chef’s love for cooking and devotion to clean nutrition have followed him from the kitchen to the holistic pet world. His spirit of craftsmanship and connection continues to guide everything we do!
2. Meeting Pet Parents Where They Are

Woof Creek Co-founder Chef Scot Hill shares tips on keeping pets healthy while Spring cleaning with 10 Tampa Bay's Great Day Live
“Over time, I’ve also learned the importance of meeting people where they are. Every pet parent is on their own journey and many are just discovering what ‘species-appropriate’ means, others are already deep into it. Our job isn’t to preach. It’s to walk beside them, to listen, and to gently guide when invited. The real progress happens through empathy, not judgment.”
At Woof Creek, that mindset is at the heart of everything we do! We know every pet parent’s journey looks a little different, and we’re here to meet you right where you are and cheer you on in your journey.
Through our blog, pet wellness consultations, and by sharing what we learn at the events and summits we attend, we truly love passing along helpful tools and real, practical knowledge.
Education plays such an important role in our mission because when pet parents feel supported and informed, everyone, humans and dogs alike, gets to live a better, healthier and more connected life.
3. Communicating with Compassion
“Another lesson has been learning how to communicate what supplements really are, and what they’re not. A supplement is exactly that: supplemental. It can’t replace a healthy environment. Food, air, water, rest, and connection, all matter just as much.
The challenge has been figuring out how to share that message in a way that encourages, not shames. When someone reaches for a product like ours, it’s an act of care. It deserves respect and honesty, not guilt.”
This honesty and humility are at the heart of why Woof Creek was created; to support and empower pet parents to learn and understand the biological needs of their fur kids, without judgement or shame.
4. Evolving While Retaining Trust
“As the brand has grown, I’ve had to figure out how to evolve and still keep trust intact. We’ve changed a lot in 5 years; labels, formulas, even philosophies. At first, I worried that too much change would make us seem inconsistent. But I’ve realized that trust doesn’t come from standing still. It comes from being transparent while you move forward.
When your community understands your heart and your ‘why,’ they’ll walk through the changes with you.”
Our growth has been an ongoing collaboration between Woof Creek, our Woof Pack pet parents, and the evolving needs of the fur kids we love.
5. The Simple Goal: Be Useful
“And through it all, one phrase keeps me centered: be useful. That’s really the heart of it. Whether it’s through a supplement, a post, or a quiet moment of connection with a pet parent, my goal is to help and to offer something that truly supports the bond between humans, animals, and the natural world.
Five years in, I’m still learning every day, mostly from our furry companions, and the quiet intelligence of nature.”

The past five years have been full of lessons, connection, and unwavering purpose. From Chef Scot’s kitchen to your home, our goal is a simple one: help pet parents regain and maintain our fur baby's healthy balance and wellness naturally, for more tail wagging years®
Here’s to many more years of doing what we love! 🐾
